INDIAN VALLEY SCHOOL

The first school in Indian Valley started about 1884. It was about 1 mile west of the Stanton place; up on a 35 foot small bench just up on the north side of the road where the valley is about 1/4 mile wide. It widens here where the North Fork of Cache Creek comes out of the canyon. The old trail used for the children to climb up the bank to the school was visable for many years. All other signs of the school have disappeared.

The second school was 1/8 mile northwest of the Parasage home, on the west side of the road, and near the center of the valley. School was not held for more than a few years at the first or second location, and then was moved to Hough Springs.
